1. The Myth of the Percentage

Consumers routinely mistake concentration percentages for sheer volume or performance. Marketing departments teach buyers that Eau de Toilette (5–15% aromatic compound) is inherently weaker than Eau de Parfum (15–20%) or Extrait de Parfum (20–40%). In formulation chemistry, concentration dictates olfactory resolution, not projection. Ethanol serves as the carrier vehicle. Sitting at 15% to 20% aromatic concentration in 75–80% ethanol, Eau de Parfum balances top-note radiance with mid-tier floral and woody heart notes. The lower alcohol content slows down the initial evaporation spike, allowing complex heart accords—like Turkish Rose, Iris, and Cardamom—to bloom over a 4 to 6 hour window.

4. Extrait de Parfum: Dense Skin-Scents & Extreme Persistence

Extraits contain between 20% and 40% raw aromatic concentrate. Because alcohol content is reduced, there is less solvent to lift top notes into the room.
